Three-time Indianapolis 500 champion and 2007 “Dancing With The Stars” winner Helio Castroneves recently retired from full-time open wheel racing after a 20-year career in the sport. Although Castroneves will move to Team Penske’s new IMSA racing program, he has committed to race in the 2018 Indy 500. The Brazilian is one of IndyCar’s all-time greats and has been the cornerstone of the Penske operation. He has 30 career CART and IndyCar race wins, eight Top 5 finishes and has claimed 50 poles. He was the first driver to win the Indianapolis 500 in his first two starts (2001, 2002) and the fifth to win consecutive titles. Castroneves’ third Indy 500 win came in 2009. The Sao Paulo, Brazil native with the electric smile won the “Dancing With The Stars” title in Season 5 with Julianne Hough. Castroneves lives in Ft. Lauderdale with his fiance Adriana and their daughter. Castroneves last played in the Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic in 2012.
