David Cook is returning to the Chris-Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic for
an eighth straight year. He has enjoyed a busy summer on his latest cross-country tour
promoting his new single “Gimme Heartbreak.” A week after his 2008 American Idol –
Season 7 victory, Cook made history with a record-breaking 14 debuts on Billboards Digital
Songs chart, and “The Time of My Life” reached No. 3 on the Hot 100. Cook’s first major
label “David Cook” was certified platinum after reaching No. 3 on the album charts and
spawning a pair of Top 20 singles, and “Laying Me Low” followed in 2013 and “Digital Vein”
in 2015. After moving to Nashville in 2012, Cook had immediate success co-writing the
2014 Top-20 single “Kiss You Tonight” for David Nail. Cook performed three mini-concerts
at the 2016 Epcot Food & Wine Festival’s “Eat-To- The-Beat” Concert Series and is
scheduled to appear again in October. Also on tap for the fall is a new untitled album
release that will include “Gimme Heartbreak” as its lead track. Cook lost his brother Adam
to cancer in 2009, and he counts philanthropy high on his list of personal goals as he has
raised more than $1 million for cancer research.
