David Cook is returning to the Chris-Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic for an eighth straight year. He enjoyed a busy summer and fall on his latest cross-country tour promoting his new single “Gimme Heartbreak.” A week after his 2008 American Idol – Season 7 victory. Cook made history with a record-breaking 14 debuts on Billboards Digital Songs chart, and “The Time of My Life” reached No. 3 on the Hot 100. Cook’s first major label “David Cook” was certified platinum after reaching No. 3 on the album charts and spawning a pair of Top 20 singles, and “Laying Me Low” followed in 2013 and “Digital Vein” in 2015. After moving to Nashville in 2012, Cook had immediate success co-writing the 2014 Top-20 single “Kiss you Tonight” for David Nail. Coming up is a soon-to-be-released EP that will include “Gimme Heartbreak” as its lead track. Cook has also performed mini-concerts at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival’s “Eat-To-The-Beat” Concert Series the last two years. The Missouri-born Cook has raised more than $1 million for cancer research after losing his brother Adam to cancer in 2009.
